II. EARLY HUMAN HISTORY

For most of recorded history, the changes observed by people in a lifetime was very gradual. Several important civilizations developed as early as 12,000 years ago including Mesopotamia, Egypt, China, India and the Andes of South America. Civilization meant that groups of people were learning to live together peacefully and that the development of agriculture was the basis of that civilization.

Domesticated horses have played a vital “technology” role since ancient times in the advanced civilizations. They were used for work, pleasure and military.

In Ref. 5 it is stated that: “One scholar even observed that an average Roman from the 1st century A.D. would find much in common with the technology and daily life of English people in the 17th century. World population increased very slowly through the centuries reaching ~1 billion people by 1800.
